Getting Started

Learn how Time Box sets you up for effective timeboxing from the first session.

: Time Box is a focused planning surface for people who prefer a tactile, timeboxed schedule. It combines a flexible brain dump, a fixed set of daily priorities, and a 30-minute schedule so you can plan realistically without losing track of ideas.
: No account is required to start. Time Box works fully offline with local storage. You can add an account later if you want syncing, billing history, or to manage subscriptions across devices.
: The brain dump expands in batches of three slots whenever you add content near the end. You can also tap the “+” button at the bottom of the brain dump to reveal additional empty slots instantly.

Understand how priorities, scheduling, and inline editing work together during the day.

: The priorities panel displays three focus slots by default. You can configure this number in settings, but we recommend keeping it tight—overflow items automatically slide back into the brain dump so you never lose track of them.
: Time Box applies “squeeze-in” logic. Dropping onto a filled slot shifts tasks in the right direction until an opening appears. You can hold Shift while dropping to replace the target slot instead when a straight swap is faster.
: Yes. Every slot supports inline editing—click or press Enter to start typing, Escape to cancel, and Enter to save. Only one slot is editable at a time to prevent accidental edits.

: Local mode stores data on your device only. The Free plan adds Supabase-backed sync for settings. The Pro plan unlocks advanced scheduling tools, historical planning, resizing, and priority support for $3/month or $30/year.
: Yes. Upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations take effect immediately through the billing settings page. We pro-rate unused time automatically when you switch billing cycles.
: Invoices live under Settings → Billing once you are signed in. We email a copy after every charge and keep the archive synced through Supabase for future reference.

How we store your information and keep schedules resilient.

: Local mode never leaves your browser. When you opt into sync, we store structured task data in Supabase with PostgreSQL, using UTC timestamps and consistent slot formatting for accurate cross-device hydration.
: Time Box continues to operate offline. We queue writes locally and sync them when your connection returns. You will see a subtle save-state indicator in the header if a sync stalls.
: Visit Settings → Data Control to request an export or wipe. Exports arrive as a CSV with schedule and brain dump entries; deletes remove both local and cloud copies once we confirm the request.
